As with any supplement, one must always consider the potential side effects. The same holds true with Arginine effect L side. Arginine, an amino acid which occurs naturally in the body, has been proven to be quite beneficial, not only in bodybuilding circles, but in the medical community as well, in the treatment of numerous health concerns. But, overall, what are the potential side effects of Arginine L?

As with most things, there is always the potential that one may have an allergic reaction to Arginine L. This is quite rare, since again, Arginine L occurs naturally in the body. Most allergic reactions occurred after the injection of Arginine, and included a rash and itching at the injection sight, with a serious side effect of shortness of breath. This type of allergic reaction is known as Anaphylaxis. There have been no allergic reactions reported when Arginine L is ingested, and not injected.

There have been numerous clinical studies with Arginine L, and in those studies, there have been few side effects. In fact, is it reported that most people do quite well with Arginine L.

Side effects that have been reported during these clinical studies include stomach upset or discomfort, nausea, abdominal cramping, and increased bowel movements. While it has not necessarily been experienced, medical researchers have concluded that it is possible that Arginine L, because of what it does in the body (such as relaxing blood vessels), could increase blood sugar levels and potassium levels. This is especially true for those who already have liver disease, or liver function problems. Arginine L may also cause the symptoms of Sickle Cell Disease to become worse.

The medical community also agrees that Arginine L has the potential to affect blood pressure and to affect the number of chemicals and electrolytes in the body. It is advised that people who have liver and/or kidney problems to avoid the use of supplements that contain Arginine L. Arginine L may also increase the risk of bleeding, and is not recommended for people who use or need anticoagulants or antiplatelet medication. If you have a bleeding disorder, do not take supplements that contain Arginine L.
